Ocean Eyes by Owl City is the project’s second studio album, following the breakthrough of Adam Young’s self-released debut. Recorded largely in Young’s parents’ basement in Minnesota, the album brought his melodic synth-pop into a much wider spotlight.
“Fireflies” became the album’s defining single, turning its wide-eyed electronic pop into a crossover hit, while “Vanilla Twilight,” “Hello Seattle,” and “Umbrella Beach” show the record’s balance of wistful hooks and brightly detailed production. This edition of Ocean Eyes comes on 2LP color vinyl with one white and one blue.
