Debut CD, SPEAK, Platinum In One Month
NEW YORK, NY — (1/24/05) Slightly more than a month in the stores, LINDSAY LOHAN’s recording debut, SPEAK (Casablanca/Universal) has been certified Platinum by the RIAA .The album has been spurred on by her hit single, “Rumors,” and the recently released “Over,” the video for which was shot in Los Angles and premiered on MTV last week. Lindsay co-wrote 5 of the 11 songs on the record including the title track and the two singles. Led by industry legend Thomas D. Mottola’s direction at Casablanca Records, Lindsay continues to climb the charts and increase her exposure as a musical artist as “Over” develops into her second mega-hit single.
Closing out a year that has included a berth at number one at the box office to being declared 2004′s “Hot Girl” by Rolling Stone Magazine, Lohan can now add Platinum selling recording artist to her resume as she returns to her role as film star with the start of production of her next feature film. “Rumors,” proved to be a triple threat – climbing the charts at radio, on-line, and at MTV. “Over,” is primed to follow in its footsteps as the public gets its first taste of the harder-edged rocker.
Lohan has starred in The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen and most recently in Mean Girls. She recorded much of SPEAK while filming the upcoming remake of Herbie, the Love Bug, titled ‘HERBIE: Fully Loaded’ and began shooting Just My Luck, directed by Donald Petrie for Fox-Regency this month.
