JoJo Performs at the Orange Bowl!

(New York, New York January 3, 2005) Blackground/Universal recording artist JoJo will perform The National Anthem at the start of the 2005 BCS Championship Game on January 4th on ABC. Prisoners of War, Jessica Lynch and Shoshawna Johnson, will escort her on the field for this spectacular event. In addition, she will perform at the FedEx Orange Bowl Beach Party on January 3rd airing on ESPN.

People Magazine dubbed her debut â€œnot your average JoJoâ€ and she has shown the world that she is certainly above average. This 14 year old pop sensation has experienced quite a year from touring with multi-platinum recording artist Usher to tennis-pros Serena and Venus Williams. Her first single off her debut self-titled platinum album “Leave (Get Out)” reached #1 on Billboardâ€™s Top 40 Radio Chart. At age 13, JoJo became the youngest solo artist to have a #1 record at Billboard Monitor. The old record was held by Britney Spears who was 16.

Moreover, JoJo was the youngest artist ever to receive a nomination for an MTV Video Music Award in the showâ€™s 21 year history. JoJoâ€™s video for “Leave Get Out” was “retired” on MTVâ€™s TRL and was the #1 video on AOL for 2004. The video was also a staple in the LAUNCH Top 10 since its debut, reaching over 5.5 million streams to date and is among LAUNCH’s Top 5 most streamed videos of the entire year.

JoJo was seen on Regis an Kelly, the Teen Choice Awards, Tony Danza, Nickelodeonâ€™s U-Pick Live just to name a few and recently performed at Christmas In Washington with an all-star line-up including Vanessa Williams and Michael McDonald. 60 Minutes II dubbed her the “edgy-pop princess” of the highly influential “tween” market.

JoJo even caught the acting bug after her appearance on NBCâ€™s American Dreams as a young Linda Ronstadt. She will begin taping her fist feature film, Aquamarine; along side Nickelodeon co-star with Emma Roberts in February.
