ALESSO‘s time is now. The Swedish electronic dance music mainstay unveiled his “Years” [featuring Matthew Koma] remix EP on iTunes and all digital retailers recently via Casablanca Records/Republic Records. The four-track collection boasts the previously unreleased “Hard Rock Sofa” remix and more. Alesso also just wrapped a short US tour, which included stops at the Ultra Music Festival and two performances at Masquerade Motel in Los Angeles.
Signed to trend-setter Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune Records in partnership with Casablanca Records, the progressive house pioneer and producer garnered the endorsement of superstars including Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, Sander van Doorn and Kaskade. As soon as you hear “Years,” it’s no surprise why (the track has also amassed over 8 million total plays on YouTube).
With its shimmering piano melody, propulsive backbeat, and soaring vocal line, the song has already taken flight online and at clubs worldwide. It’s even featured in the trailer for the Ultra Music Festival—at which he appeared on March 24. The track is quickly becoming a veritable anthem for this year.
Alesso’s “Pressure” remix became one of the most-played EDM tracks of 2012, and he also dropped hits including “Calling (Lose My Mind)” with Sebastian Ingrosso and “City of Dreams” with Dirty South. He’s coming off a landmark 2012, but ALESSO stands primed for an even bigger 2013.
