Cut Copy kick it old school at Pitchfork Festival

Cut Copy employed an old school method in releasing their new single at the recent Pitchfork Music Festival. A record cutting booth was set up where 120 fans received lathe cut vinyls made on site. The track “Let Me Show You” will appear on Cut Copy’s unannounced 2013 album. One festival goer uploaded the song to YouTube and word quickly spread through the blogs!

…this latest tune offsets a chunky synth propulsion with elastic crooning courtesy of singer Dan Whitford. (Spin) the song is a nice rave-pop twinkle with an excellent early-’90s house-music breakdown. (Stereogum) It’s a controlled return by the Australian electronic troupe, with the song’s warm six-minute ’80s-inspired thumps and breezy melody a befitting summer release. (The Fader)
