Hot off releasing their full-length debut Tetra [Casablanca Records] last month, C2C has revealed its brand new remix of Vitalic‘s “Fade Away,” which is available to stream through the group’s soundcloud page.
The turntable pros take the original dance floor gem by fellow French electronic leader Vitalic and infuse their own incomparable style. As a result, “Fade Away” rises from a haze of synths into an inescapable chorus. It’s not going to fade from the top of your playlist anytime soon either.
In addition, C2C is encouraging fans to try their hands at remixing as well. The group just launched a remix contest for their single “Happy” on Friday, March 29. Fans can download the stems from the band’s website and then upload their very own interpretation through April 29. The general public may vote for the entries after registering on Soundcloud until May 13, and the victor will be revealed May 20.
The winning entry will be included on a special edition vinyl LP for “Happy” in addition to being pushed by C2C‘s network share and promotion, and receiving a Numark TTXUSB Deck with a customized tray signed by the band. The second place winner will receive a 600 Euro gift certificate to Woodbrass.com (music store), with third place receiving a 400 Euro gift certificate to the site. Fourth place will receive one DNU MIXTRACK controller and Sennheiser HD 25 headset, and fifth place will receive a Tetra LP signed by the band and “Down The Road” LP and Tetra CD.
C2C continue drumming up even more attention with their debut album, Tetra [Casablanca Records], in stores now, and an impending April U.S. tour on the horizon (dates below). At radio, “Down the Road,” has exploded into the ALT Top 25 in just 3 weeks. “Down The Road” begins with a bluesy twang and slips into rapturous scratching and a soulfully slick hook (the video has racked up over 9.6 million YouTube/VEVO views and counting). Dr. Pepper even used the track to fuel its latest “One Of A Kind” ad campaign.
