The Band Perry, who just celebrated the firstanniversary of their debut album, was named New Artist of the Year by the Country Music Association last night at the 45th Annual CMA Awards.
The honor was one of three that went to the Perry household – in addition to New Artist of the Year, The Band Perry took home Single of the Year for “If I Die Young,” while big sister Kimberly Perry earned the coveted Song of the Year award for “If I Die Young.” “
Growing up, we watched the CMA Awards every year, so to think that we now have our own awards to put on our mantel is surreal! We are grateful to be recognized inthis way and we promise to continue to keep working hard to deliver our best,” said Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry.
“Wow! What an incredible night for The Band Perry – to not only receive these three CMA Awards but to have delivered such a powerful performance during the show. This could not happen to three nicer people. Everyone at Republic Nashville is so proud and excited for Kimberly, Neil and Reid’s amazing accomplishments,” said Jimmy Harnen, Republic Nashville President.
Also last night, the band performed their latest hit, “All Your Life,” with a warmly-lit, Vaudeville-themed set that referenced the song’s music video, which features TBP as a traveling troupe of performers. It was a case of art imitating life for the family that has been touring partners and collaborators together for the past thirteen years.
