Two Feet is the solo project of New York City musician Bill Dess. Two Feet’s hazy and mellow sound nods to contemporary artists like Chet Faker, Darkside, and Citizen Cope, with low-key electronic beats that are as subtle as they are unshakeable. But the core of much of his music is based on Jazz/Blues influences.
Tracks like “Love Is a Bitch” bleed with an unabashed blues heart, with flitters of guitar provocatively stacked against an unrelenting electronic backbone, and Two Feet’s trademark bass line.
A multi-instrumentalist, Dess studied piano and composition. He writes, plays, sings, and produces all his own music in his studio. “Before Two Feet I was producing a kind of electronic music, but I was listening to a lot of blues music, which I’ve always loved. I found myself focusing on learning how to play blues guitar,” Dess explained. “So, when I decided to start a new project, all the influences came together.” With additional hints of indie rock and R&B, Dess blends and bends genres and sounds to create music that is uniquely his own.
