10 Things We Learned About Pearl Jam’s Album, “Lightning Bolt,” From Danny Clinch’s New Documentary

Pearl Jam‘s new album, Lightning Bolt, is scheduled to drop soon. And it’s been a looooooong time coming. The album, which hits stores on October 15, is the band’s first project since 2009′s Backspacer. So a lot of Pearl Jam fans have had Lightning Bolt‘s release date circled on their calendars for quite some time now. But fortunately, the wait is finally almost over.

Before you buy it, though—or, better yet, before you pre-order it over here—there are some things that you should know about Pearl Jam and Lightning Bolt. Director Danny Clinch—who directed Pearl Jam’s 2007 concert film, Imagine in Cornice—just shot a short documentary about the band and the album that features some of Pearl Jam’s most famous fans, including director Judd Apatow, surfer Mark Richards, and former NFL star Steve Gleason, asking them questions (watch the video in the clip above).
